Is Wing Chun a good martial art to learn for a 24 year old 6 foot 120kg man? I’ve heard that it is great for women and small men but would it be good for a man of my size? Or would doing Jow Gar Kung Fu, Boxing, Karate be better?

  1. Ricky says:

Wing chun will be good cause its very easy to learn. Its simple and it only has 3 forms whereas other styles has like 20..

  2. Christian on Mission says:

Wing chun is a great style no matter what. It was originally designed by someone of a smaller body frame but it was implemented to be used to matter how heavy any one is. You will greatly enjoy it. you will learn to love Ng Mui and her legend. You will learn to love and hate the wing chun dummy.

  3. nameless says:

you can’t choose specific styles for people based on body types. any person of any body type can succeed at any martial art if they really want to and dedicate themselves to learning them. so choose whatever style you would enjoy the most, because they are all good

  4. just me says:

Your age/height/weight is irrelevant. Anyone can do wing chun. Try all the styles available in you area and then decide which one you like best.

  5. Aaron J says:

Any system would be good for you. Wing Chun would be just fine. I’m the same size and have studied that system.

  6. Tony says:

boxing and wing chun go good together. learn them both.
